I have called this base Old Faithful for years in my head and just decided to make it official. It’s just that “go-to” reliable sock yarn that never lets me down. 4 ply, superwash, great twist, and 25% nylon all come together to knit up into some really durable socks when knitted at an appropriate sock gauge. Great stitch definition also means you can knit mindless vanilla round and round or bust out a chart and maker create intricate cables or lace. This yarn will give you a dreamy and soft project either way. That’s why it’s such a popular base among dyers and stitchers everywhere!!

 Old Faithful isn’t just for socks. Sweaters, shawls, hats, cowls, and countless other uses.  

Dare I go out on a limb and do the hypothetical “if I could only knit with one yarn for the rest of my days or stranded on a deserted island scenario”? Well, it’s so versatile I’m probably going Old Faithful.
